Do you have a BowFlex M7 Max Trainer and the console will not come on? Your machine doesn't power up?
A good, working, M7 console will power up under 1 of the following conditions:
- If it is plugged into a power source.
- If any button is pushed.
- If it receives a signal from the RPM sensor as a result of pedaling the machine.
Sportsmith offers some things you can check when your Bowflex M7 Max Trainer console will not power up.
What to Check if the Console Doesn't Come On:
- Make sure the unit is using a working outlet.
- Check the power cord for any damage.
- Check the connections at the front of the unit.
- The connection should be secure and undamaged. If damage is present, replace the adapter or the connection at the unit.
- Check the data cable connections and alignment.
- The data cable should be secure and in proper alignment. The small latch on the connector should line up and snap into place.
- Check the data cable integrity.
- All wires in the cable should be intact. If any cuts or crimping, replace the cable.
- Check cable for continuity. Click here for help with continuity. Replace the cable if continuity is lacking.
- Reset the machine.
- Unplug the unit from the electrical outlet for 5 minutes, then reconnect it.
- Check magnet and speed sensor. Shrouds must be removed.
- Magnet should be in place on the fan disc.
- Sensor should be aligned with magnet. Adjust gap if necessary.
- Using magnet and multi-meter, check function of the speed sensor.
- The continuity should poll between opened and closed as the magnet is moved close and then taken away from the sensor. If continuity stays opened or closed no matter the presence of the magnet the sensor is faulty.
- Note: Place probes on speed sensor connector and hold magnet along side of the sensor. Do Not place magnet at end of sensor; this can give false readings.
- Replace the speed sensor if faulty.
