High Voltage (220volt) Life Fitness Treadmills CLL100004-CLL161748 Motor Control Board Replacement

This document applies to 220volt units with serial numbers: CLL100004-CLL161748. These units can use motor control board ak75-00005-0001, Sportsmith item P01AK7500050001 with some setup and required parts. Specifically, an updated elevation motor, the removal of both the auto-transformer and harness, and the circuit breaker, and the installation of a plug to cover the hole created by the absence of the breaker.

Tools required:

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Blocks to elevate the treadmill
  • Pliers
  • Small crescent

Parts required:

  • Motor Control Board
  • Elevation Motor
  • Frame Plug

Procedure:

  • Power off and unplug the treadmill
  • Remove the motor hood
  • Take pictures and notes of what connectors plug in and where on the current Motor Control Board
  • Disconnect the required harnesses and wires to allow the removal of the Motor Control Board
  • Support the frame with blocks or other to take the weight off the lift carriage wheels
  • Remove the elevation motor and replace it with the updated version (0k58-01550-0000, 127926)
    • The elevation motor has a three-pin connector

 NOTE: The cable harness between the autotransformer and breaker is not compatible with the new Motor Control Board.

  • Install the new Motor Control Board into the frame and connect all harnesses back
    • Remember, the three-pin connector for the autotransformer and breaker is not used
  • Remove the breaker from the frame and install the plug (P01001700421053, 0017-00042-1053) in its place
  • Install the motor hood
  • Plug in the treadmill
  • Test the treadmill before use
