Precor EFX Ellipticals, Replacing a 1-Piece Front Cover

Find out what is needed when replacing a 1-piece front cover on a Precor EFX elliptical. The front cover fits around the lift motor for the ramps of the EFX models.

Tools Required:

• Screwdriver Set

Procedure:

1. Remove the screws holding the lower part of the front cover to its mounting bracket.
2. Remove the screws holding the cover badge that sits in the top center of the front cover. Remove the cover badge.
3. Slide the cover off by pulling it upwards between the frame uprights and handlebars toward the user space.
4. After repairs or with the new cover, slide the cover into place from the user side, between the frame uprights and handlebars.
5. Replace the screws holding the lower part of the front cover to its mounting bracket and hand tighten.
6. Replace the cover badge making sure it mates with the lift motor drive screw to slide into place. If they are not seated properly, the cover is not secure and will vibrate during the lift operations. Reseat and tighten the screws.
7. Tighten the mounting screws in the lower part of the front cover.

This completes the replacement of the front cover for a Precor EFX elliptical.
