Schwinn Airdyne, AD3, Replacing the Battery

Do you have an old Schwinn Airdyne, AD3, with a dial-style speedometer? Are you replacing the battery and wondering where it is on your bike?

The battery style found on this speedometer display is a button cell battery. It will be an A76 button cell or an equivalent such as the LR44. These will work as replacement batteries.

The battery is located just below the timer on the speedometer. There is a small circular cap that covers the battery. The cap has a cutout. You can use a penny or a screwdriver to remove the cap. If your cap and battery are missing, you will see a spring in the battery space.

If the cap is present, you will use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the cap. You will turn it counter-clockwise to remove it.

If your cap is missing, many folks get by with tape over the battery. The goal is to hold the battery in place and making contact with the wire spring.

This covers the battery replacement for an old Schwinn AD3 Airdyne exercise bike.

Note: These consoles are no longer made. We do not offer any replacement options.
