The steps to remove and replace the rear cover on a Precor EFX elliptical are the same basics, from one model to the next.
The rear cover on some units is made of four pieces. There are the front, top, left, and right sections. Any time you remove the rear front section of a four-piece setup, you may also have to remove the frame cover. The frame cover is between the rear covers and the ramps. It covers the frame.
We summarize the steps for removing and replacing the rear covers of a Precor EFX elliptical.
Tools Required:
- Screwdriver Set
- Hex Wrench Set
Procedure:
- Remove the top cover by removing the screws holding it on the machine. Remove the screws holding the top cover to the frame upright. Remove the screws holding the top cover to the front or rear cover. Set the screws aside for reassembly.
- Remove the left and right covers. Do this by removing the screws at the rear of the rear covers. Set the screws aside for reassembly. If removing the left side, grab and rotate it clockwise to remove it. Grab and rotate counter-clockwise the right side cover to remove it.
- Remove the frame cover to allow the removal of the rear front cover. Remove the four screws that hold the frame cover to the frame. There are two screws on each side. Set the screws aside for later.
Remove two screws holding the front cover to the frame. Lift the rear portion of the frame cover and slide the frame cover out of the ramp. Remove the front cover section. - When reinstalling the covers, you will replace the frame cover first followed by the front cover section. You will reinstall the top cover section and finish with the left and right covers.
