The serial number on your Precor machine includes the date of manufacture. The Precor serial numbers are 13 characters.
The 5th to the 9th characters is the date your machine was made.
The 5th character is the month your machine was made. Letters of the alphabet identify the month. January is the letter A. February is the letter B, and so on. December is the letter K.
The 6th and 7th characters will be two digits. These are the day of the month the machine was made.
The 8th and 9th characters are the year.
Some machines had some changes during the manufacturing of a series. If such an instance occurs, there is a date range for the same serial number prefix where some parts are not interchangeable with other machines of the same series. You will see notations for machine serial number selections or parts listed for machines like 'Mfg Before' or 'Mfg After'.
If your serial number or the part you are looking to buy notes 'Mfg Before' or 'Mfg After', take caution. Check the date of your machine to ensure the list of parts or the item you are looking at is right for your machine.
