How To Replace a Pad or Pad Cover on a Preacher Curl, Bicep Curl, or Arm Curl

No matter the brand or age of a preacher curl, bicep curl, or arm curl strength model, the basics of the arm pad are similar across the brands. The pad is bolted to the frame. It will be held in place with no less than two screws or bolts. There may even be washers involved. The steps of how to replace a pad or pad cover are similar between brands and models.

Tools Needed:

  • Screwdriver Set
  • Wrench Set

To replace a pad, you need to remove the hardware from your old pad. Put your new pad in place and attach the new pad with the hardware removed from the old pad.

To replace the cover on your pad is just as simple. You will remove the pad to remove the cover. Some covers are Velcro. You detach the Velcro to remove the cover from the pad. Place your new cover over the pad and fasten the Velcro.

Some covers, known as slipcovers, slide over the pad. You slide the cover off the pad and the new cover into place. Replacing a cover on your pad can require you to poke holes into the cover. The holes allow the screws or bolts to thread into the pad. You can do this with your screwdriver, a blade, or scissors.

This completes replacing a pad or pad cover of a Preacher Curl, Bicep Curl, or Arm curl strength machine.
