Garmin Rally Pedals, Software Update has Failed

Do you own a pair of Garmin Rally pedals and has the software update failed?

If the battery level in the Rally power meter pedals is too low, the software update may fail to  install.

A lost connection with the paired device can also cause the software update to fail to install.

Did You Get a Software Update Failed Message on the Paired Device?

If your paired device receives a software update failed message, then the update was not installed to the left or the right pedal. This can be the result of two possible causes:

1. The connection with the paired device was lost during the update process.
2. The battery level in the pedals is too low for the software update installation process.

The two possible solutions to solving the update failed message are the following:

1. Be sure that the paired device providing the update is within range. The range is within 10 feet of the pedals. Keep the paired device within this range during the update install to maintain connection.
2. Replace the batteries in  the pedals and reinstall the software update.
   
   Be Advised: The update can take as long as 10 minutes to complete installation. Keep the device within the 10 feet during the entire software update installation process.

Do the Pedals Flash Red/Green and Will Not Connect to the Head Unit or Paired Device?

If your pedals flash red/green when activated and they will not connect to the last paired device; it means a software update is trying to install between the pedals and is unsuccessful each time.

Solve this state by replacing the batteries in the pedals. After replacing the batteries in the pedals, spin the bike crank to activate the pedals. The update automatically installs from the left pedal to the right pedal.

Be Advised: The update can take up to 10 minutes to complete installation. Be sure the device remains within 10 feet to maintain connection during the update process.
