Searching Sportsmith with an Equipment Model or Serial Number

Do you have the model or serial number of your fitness equipment and need help finding parts for your machine?
Sportsmith sells repair and replacement parts to fit a variety of brands and models. We support over 30 different commercial brands of models found in your local gyms and health centers. We also support some residential brands of models found in people's homes.

Some machine models do not have a serial number that determines the parts to fit. In the event there is a serial number that determines the parts for a machine, we list the parts based on the serial number information.

We work to offer common ways a model can be known. As this is a regular variable, we may miss a few.

We put together some tips for searching our site with an equipment model number, SKU, or serial number.

We offer examples of where to find a serial number for various brands. Click here for help finding your model and serial number details.

  Tech Tip

Some serial numbers are not easy to access. Our first tip, when collecting a model serial number, is to have your phone or camera ready to take a photo. We recommend taking a picture of the label from the machine that contains the extended model name/model number, SKU, and serial# details. This keeps you from wrestling the machine or yourself to get the information if needed again.

Searching with a Serial Number:

  • Try searching the first few characters of your serial number instead of the entire value. Many serial numbers are alphanumeric. Some will begin with a set of letters followed by digits. Others will be a good mix of the letters and numbers. Try only searching the few beginning characters first.
    • For LifeFitness serial numbers that begin with letters, try searching our site with the letter prefix and first digit of the serial#.
    • For Precor serial numbers search the first four characters of the serial number. The rest of the serial number helps identify the year your machine was made.
    • Schwinn and Bowflex serial numbers begin with six digits. These first six digits can help you find parts for your machine when searching our site.
    • Matrix, Horizon, and Vision serial numbers, are best searched with the model code from the beginning of the serial number such as EP, TM, or CB, and the following 2-4 characters.
    • StarTrac serial numbers are not as helpful when searching our site for parts to fit your machine. With the introduction of the StarTrac E and S Series cardio, support became model SKU-focused and no longer driven by the machine serial number. This is what is most helpful today. The model SKU. This is an alphanumeric value from StarTrac that will begin 9-. See searching with a model number.

Searching with a Model Number:

  • Some machines have an extended model name/model number.  This is not the model number like 93R, S-RB, 95 SE, or S-TRc, or 10G. Instead, this numeric or alphanumeric value can be anywhere from 6-18 characters long. In these cases, the serial number didn't help to identify the parts, and the makers went with these model names/model numbers instead. These can also be called the model SKU. The model name/model number is on the same label on the machine where the serial number is found. We recommend collecting all the model name/model number, SKU, and serial number details found on the label. Taking a photo is very helpful.
    • Commercial brands such as StarTrac and Stairmaster have some machines where we list the model name/model number instead of serial numbers. As noted previously, this is because the serial number became less helpful and the full model name/model number (the model SKU) is how we identify parts for a machine. In machines where this applies, you will see model numbers in a format like 9-xxxx-xxxAPx. This is the information from your machine, that will be most helpful in finding parts to fit.
    • LifeFitness model names/model numbers are sometimes listed along with a serial number or instead of a serial number. It can be helpful to have both the model name/model number and the serial number of your LifeFitness machine. If you are not having luck with a serial number search,  our tip is to try the model name/model number of the machine.
    • For residential or home brands like ProForm and NordicTrack, we list by model numbers. These machines will have an extended model number. The format for an extended model number can be something like PFTL123456, NTEL45678.9, 831.23456.7, 21234.1, or PFEL34567 8. The tip to searching these extended model numbers is eliminating spaces or non-alphanumeric values.
