LeMond Revmaster, Classic and Sport, Stuck Plunger for Seat Post or Handlebar

Do you have a LeMond Revmaster Classic or Sport indoor cycle and is the plunger for your seat post or handlebar stuck in the frame?

This usually happens when the metal portion becomes disconnected from the plastic part. This allows the metal to become lodged in the passages as it is not held straight by the plastic portion.

Inspect the plastic and metal parts of the plunger closely for separation. If they are still together, you can reuse the same plunger. If they are separating or it has come apart, you will need to install a new plunger.

Fixing it requires replacement.

Supplies Needed:

  • Large "L" Shaped Hex Wrench, 6MM or Larger
  • 3-in-1 oil
  • 1 1/4" Wrench

Removing a Stuck Plunger:

  1. To remove the plunger, take out the handlebar or seat post.
  2. Remove the handle and frame plug.
  3. With the "L" shaped hex wrench, force the plunger from the passage, out of the hole in the frame for the plug.

      Tech Tip

Clean and lubricate the passage with 3 in 1 oil, dri-film lubricant, or super lube to prevent further issues. Apply a small amount of lubricant.

Replacing a Plunger:

  1. Insert the handlebar or seat post.
  2. Insert the plunger. Ensuring the V cut out in the plunger aligns properly with the seat post or handlebar.
  3. Install the frame plug and tighten.
  4. Lift the handlebar or seat post and install the handle.
