This article explains how to replace the Lift Motor of a Life Fitness Explore and Elevation Series Treadmill with Serial Ranges TWT, AST, TET, ASP, ASM, PEU, TEU, BXT.
Tools Required:
- Phillips Screwdriver
- Adjustable Wrench
- Needle Nose Pliers
- Pliers
Replacement Procedure:
- Turn the power switch to the "off" position
- Unplug the power cord from the wall
- Remove the inside upright covers with the Phillips screwdriver
- Remove the front cover using the Phillips screwdriver
- With the Phillips screwdriver, remove the motor cover
- Cut or disconnect any cable ties holding the elevation motor's harness to the cross-member
- Disconnect the Elevation motor harness from the DSP controller or the wax lift board ( 4-pin connector)
- With the Phillips screwdriver, remove the Lift motor ground wire
- Carefully tilt the machine onto its side so there is no weight on the lift carriage assembly
- Alternatively, use blocks to lift the treadmill's frame enough so that the lift carriage assembly is not touching the floor
- While holding the motor, remove the nut from each bolt, then the bolt using the pliers and adjustable wrench; or use the needle-nose pliers to remove the pin and clevis shaft from each end of the elevation motor
- Now the motor is free for removal
- Installation is achieved by reversing these steps
