Does your Bowflex console look different than the console listed under the M5 Max Trainer at Sportsmith? This article will help you understand the differences and options that are available for your machine.
The M5 originally did not support the "JRNY" application. So, the "M5U" Upgrade kit was created to add the functionality of the application as well as integrating the console, keypad and H/R (heart rate) grips into one unit. See the example below.
The original M5 had a Console that was mounted separate from the keypad and H/R (heart rate) grips. The original M5 console has a smaller footprint than the console in the M5U upgrade. See the example below.
The upgrade kit was the OEM part number 100804. The kit included items 1000512843 (M6 console assembly), 1000513009 (console top cap and graphics), 1000513096 (heart rate arm band kit, no branding), and 1000513012 (Document kit, instructions for installing upgrade.) If you need to replace the console that came with your M5u Upgrade kit you can purchase an M6 console. That is the OEM part number 1000512843.
If the M6 console is on backorder and you can't wait, another option is to downgrade (losing use of JRNY app) with Sportsmith part numbers: 110838, 110839, 110804, 110782, 110837 back to the original M5 style of console which is shown above.
