Schwinn Airdyne, AD6, Why is there Noise from the Crank or Main Pulley?

Are you hearing noises coming from the main pulley, AKA the crank pulley, on your Schwinn Airdyne AD6 bike? Do you want to know why is there noise?

  • 14mm Socket and Wrench
  • 15mm Open End Wrench
  • 10mm Open End Wrench
  • #2 Phillips Screwdriver
  • Spindle Removal Tool
  • 4mm Hex Wrench
  • 6mm Hex Wrench

Troubleshooting Noise from the Main Crank Pulley:

You will need to begin by removing the shrouds to gain access to the pulleys. Remove the batteries and let the unit sit for 5 minutes.

  • After removing the shrouds, you will inspect the main pulley. The main pulley (crank pulley) is the large pulley where the connector arm mounts. This pulley has a cogged or toothed belt. Inspect the pulley for damage. Look to see if the pulley is rubbing on any other parts of the bike.
  • If damage exists or the issue continues, replace the crank pulley. You need the spindle removal tool to replace the crank pulley.
