Probable Cause
- Loose wire connections.
- Worn or damaged wire harnesses.
- Malfunctioning Display Console.
- Malfunctioning Alternator Control Board (ACB).
- Malfunctioning Alternator.
Corrective Action
- Disconnect and reset connections.
- Inspect wire harnesses. Replace any worn or damaged harness.
- Test with substitute Display Console. Replace Display Console.
- Test with substitute ACB. Replace malfunctioning ACB.
- Test Alternator output or, test with substitute Alternator.
- Alternator Voltage Test:
- Attach DC voltmeter to Alternator.
- Voltmeter positive (+) probe to Alternator red lead.
- Voltmeter negative (-) lead to Alternator black lead.
- Maintain pedal speed greater than 45 RPM.
- Press START key.
- Alternator Voltage Specification: 9 - 11 VDC when pedal speed greater than 45 RPM.
- Replace malfunctioning Alternator.
- Attach DC voltmeter to Alternator.
