Procedure
NOTE: It's VERY IMPORTANT that the unit is leveled correctly before making any changes to the tracking. A teetering unit can cause your walking belt to come out of alignment.
- Once you've checked that the unit is level, you can now check for proper tracking of the belt. You may plug the unit into a proper power outlet, and turn the unit ON.
- Using the Speed Automatic test from the Diagnostics: System Test menu, obtain 4mph (6.4kph) motor speed.
- While the belt is running, check the tracking. Does the belt move to the right? IF so, adjust by turning the right tensioning bolt ¼ turn counterclockwise. Allow for a few belt rotations to ensure the belt has found its position. This should bring it back to the center.
- While the belt is running, check the tracking. Does the belt move to the left? IF so, adjust by turning the left tensioning bolt ¼ turn clockwise. Allow for a few belt rotations to ensure the belt has found its position. This should bring it back to the center.
- Repeat this procedure until the walking belt is centered. Let the unit run a few minutes after tracking to ensure tracking stays set.
IMPORTANT: While adjusting, DO NOT surpass more than 1 full turn on the tensioning screws in each direction.
