When replacing the alternator on your Stairmaster Gauntlet, Stepmill, 7000PT, or FreeRunners 5400/5600, it is important to note the physical location of the wire connections as well as the markings that may have changed from the alternator being replaced.
Four wires come from the Power Relay Board and attach to the alternator. They are Black, Brown, Blue, and White.
How To Wire an Alternator with the Yellow Sticker:
- Attach the Black wire to the alternator terminal labeled GND (it may be necessary to use a self-tapping screw).
- Attach the Brown wire to the alternator terminal labeled FLD.
- Attach the Blue wire to the alternator terminal labeled TACH.
- Attach the White wire to the alternator terminal labeled B+.
