Resistance Variation in MANUAL Program on LifeFitness 95Ci, 95Ce, 95CW Bikes

Probable Cause

  1. Pedaling too slowly.
  2. Loose wire connections.
  3. Worn or damaged harnesses.
  4. Malfunctioning Display Console.
  5. Malfunctioning Alternator Control Board.
  6. Malfunctioning Alternator.

Corrective Action

  1. Pedal faster than 35 RPM.
  2. Disconnect then, reconnect connections.
  3. Inspect wire harnesses. Replace any worn or damaged harness.
  4. Test with substitute Display Console. Replace Display Console.
  5. Test with substitute Alternator Control Board. Replace defective board.
  6. Test Alternator output or, test with substitute Alternator.
    1. Alternator Voltage Test:
      1. Attach DC voltmeter to Alternator.
        1. Voltmeter positive (+) probe to Alternator red lead.
        2. Voltmeter negative (-) lead to Alternator black lead.
      2. Maintain pedal speed greater than 45 RPM.
      3. Press START key.
        1. Alternator Voltage Specification: 9 - 11 VDC when pedal speed greater than 45 RPM.
      4. Replace malfunctioning Alternator.
