Probable Cause
- No heart rate reading.
- Faulty cable connection.
- Malfunctioning handlebar/Life Pulse grip assembly (includes worn or damaged heart rate lead).
- Handlebar/Life Pulse grip assembly.
- Loose or malfunctioning heart rate lead connection at display console.
- Malfunctioning display console.
- Wear or damage to grip.
Corrective Action
- Execute Diagnostic Mode to verify performance of heart rate function.
- Access Diagnostics by holding down the UP ARROW, then pressing the CLEAR key twice.
- Then press and hold COOL DOWN and then press ENTER for entry into the TEST/SERVICE MENU.
- Verify heart-rate cable is properly connected.
- Using an ohmmeter, verify continuity at the main console cable.
- Replace Handlebar/Life Pulse assembly.
- Verify that the handlebar is functioning.
- Using an ohmmeter, verify continuity between Life Pulse sensor and cable connection.
- Dry-wipe sensors.
- Replace malfunctioning Handlebar/Lifepulse Grip Assembly.
- Secure connection.
- Test with substitute Display Console.
- Replace malfunctioning Display Console.
- Replace damaged or worn heart rate sensor grip.
