How could I upgrade my Schwinn Airdyne exercise bike from a mechanical load indicator (speedometer) to an electronic display?

There were two electronic display options that required additional parts to convert the Schwinn Airdyne 3 and Airdyne 4 exercise bikes from the mechanical speedometer to the electronic display.

Option #1

Upgrade using Schwinn AD4 computer (OEM part# 92823) which requires sprocket and chain replacements for calibration purposes:

  • Computer - OEM part# 92823 - this computer used AA batteries
  • Spoke Protector with Magnet - OEM part# 90887
  • Speed Sensor - OEM part# 90837
  • Speed Sensor Bracket - OEM part# 90962
  • Spoke Protector Mounting Clips (x3) - OEM part# 90827
  • Left Computer Support (Mounting) Tube - OEM part# 90679
  • Right Computer Support (Mounting) Tube - OEM part# 90680
  • Chain (Idler Hub to Fan) - OEM part# 90457
  • Chain (Crank to Idler Hub) - OEM part# 90458
  • Sprocket for Idler and Fan (x2) - OEM part# 90540

Option #2

Upgrade using Schwinn AD5 computer (OEM part# 92900):

  • Computer - OEM part# 92900 - this computer used AA batteries
  • Spoke Protector with Magnet - OEM part# 90887
  • Speed Sensor - OEM part# 90837
  • Speed Sensor Bracket - OEM part# 90962
  • Spoke Protector Mounting Clips (x3) - OEM part# 90827
  • Left Computer Support (Mounting) Tube - OEM part# 90679
  • Right Computer Support (Mounting) Tube - OEM part# 90680
  • Instrument Mounting Screw (x4) - OEM part# 91331
  • Washer (x8) - OEM part# 93589

Many of these parts are no longer supported by the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). If we no longer have the part and do not offer a substitute; We do not have a recommendation of where to buy it.
