This video covers using console codes when servicing the Nautilus SM916 Stepmill. The Stepmill SM916 uses the C51 console. The following codes covered can be used on any unit equipped with this C51 console as shown in the video.
The Customize Menu is used to manage the following information:
- Change Units (select between USA and METRIC units)
- Minimum/Maximum Steps
- Adjust the contrast of the upper and lower screens
- Language
- Stats
- HR Inputs (For purposes of testing, select HAND ONLY. This will allow the unit to only read the input from your hands and block out any other telemetric signals. (This is important when diagnosing false heart rate readings. This allows you to rule out wireless devices such as wireless internet, cell phones, and power tools.)
- Cooldown
- Max Time
Customize Code - Level Up, 3, Enter.
- Customize will appear on the screen.
- You can use Level Up and Level Down to scroll through the Customize menu.
- Once you find the desired topic, you select it by pressing ENTER.
- If changing a setting within the topic, make the appropriate selection for the topic and press ENTER.
- Exit any option by pressing CLEAR.
- Pressing CLEAR once will return you to the main Customize Menu.
- Pressing CLEAR twice will bring you all the way out.
- Pressing CLEAR once will return you to the main Customize Menu.
- Exit any option by pressing CLEAR.
- If changing a setting within the topic, make the appropriate selection for the topic and press ENTER.
Machine Status Code - Level Up, 4, Enter.
- Machine Status will appear on the screen.
- You can scroll through this menu using the Level Up and Level Down keys
- Here you can view usage stats such as:
- Maintenance hours (shows last time unit serviced)
- Equipment type for which console is configured (Stepmill, Bike, Stepper, Elliptical)
- Console software version (console software version is important when dealing with performance problems that are electronic in nature)
- Floors climbed
- # of workouts
- Run hours
- Exit any option by pressing CLEAR.
- Pressing CLEAR once will return you to the main Machine Status Menu.
- Pressing CLEAR twice will bring you all the way out.
- Pressing CLEAR once will return you to the main Machine Status Menu.
Diagnostics Code - Level Up, 6, Enter.
- Diagnostic will appear on the screen.
- Scroll through this menu using the Level Up and Level Down keys.
- Once you find the desired topic, you select it by pressing ENTER.
- Diagnostics will allow you to perform the following tests:
- Tach Test
- Alternator (ALT) Test
- I/O Test
- A/B Sensor Test (to check the function of Heart Rate)
- Serial Ports
- Key Test (to check the function of the keypad)
- Display Test (to check that all the segments of the screen are lighting properly)
- Exit any option by pressing CLEAR.
- Pressing CLEAR once will return you to the main Machine Status Menu.
- Pressing CLEAR twice will bring you all the way out.
- Pressing CLEAR once will return you to the main Machine Status Menu.
Maintenance Logs Code – Level Up, 7, Enter.
- Maintenance Logs will appear on the screen.
- Scroll through this menu using the Level Up and Level Down keys.
- Once you find the desired log to update, you select it by pressing ENTER.
- You can manage the following logs:
- Maintenance Hours
- Error Log (this is helpful in understanding if an electrical problem has occurred)
- Exit any option by pressing CLEAR.
- Pressing CLEAR once will return you to the main Machine Status Menu.
- Pressing CLEAR twice will bring you all the way out.
- Pressing CLEAR once will return you to the main Machine Status Menu.
- You can manage the following logs:
Configuration Code – Level Up, 8, Enter.
- Configuration will appear on the screen. ***This code is important to know since this C51 console can be used on the Stepmill SM916, Stepper SC916, Bikes U916 and R916 or Ellipticals E916 and EV916.***
- Press ENTER. Press Level Up, and Change Machine will appear on the screen.
- Press ENTER. The currently selected equipment type will display.
- Use the Level Up or Level Down keys to change the selection.
- Once you have the proper equipment type showing on the display, press ENTER to choose this selection.
- Console will flash, then it will display the saved equipment type and then it will return to the beginning welcome screen.
