Do you have a loose seat post or handlebar? Do clients or customers complain about loose seat posts or handlebars? This looseness can be the cause of rattle complaints.
The likely causes are worn or damaged pop pins and or sleeves. Some bike makers have used shims to help solve this complaint.
Issue:
- Handlebar or seat post rattle in the frame of the bike.
- Handlebar or seat post drops in the post; knob not holding position.
Solution:
- Inspect the plastic sleeve of either the handlebar or seat post. Check both parts of the handlebar and or seat post assembly for necessary parts. Replace parts found missing, worn, or damaged.
- Inspect the pop pin assembly and replace it if necessary.
