Using the Cog Tool for Sprocket Removal on Concept 2 Rowers
Removing a sprocket from the flywheel axle on the Concept2 rowers can be difficult. The cog tool helps to hold the axle while removing the sprocket. The tool looks like a large nut with a needle bearing inside of it.
Supplies Needed:
- Cog Tool
- Pliers or Wrench
Procedure:
- Once the axle is out of the flywheel, you can place the cog tool onto the axle opposite the sprocket.
- Place the tool onto the axle so that the writing on the bearing faces away from the sprocket.
- Use the pliers or a wrench to hold the tool. Turn the sprocket counterclockwise.
